Nursing Home Visit

Last week the MOMS Club visited the nursing home again to decorate the doors for St. Patricks Day. All the moms bring things their children made at home and the kids hang everything on the residents doors. The kids love it and the residents really enjoy us poking our heads in to say hello! It such a wonderful service project for our club to teach the children about our elders and about giving back to the community. We plan to go back in April to decorate patriotic for Memorial Day and 4th of July. Come with us!!

Of course my camera was in my car the whole time we were inside the nursing home. Afterwards though the weather was so nice (look at her sandles) that we let the kids play outside while the moms talked. This is what they got into and had so much fun playing with...bricks!

Music Class

Ana Maria and I went to another music class! This is the same music class with the MOMS Club, just a new month! We have to have so many moms come in order for the teacher to come, and the last couple months we haven't had enough for the class to make. I got smart though and invited another moms group to join us to make sure we'll always have enough!
She loved it! I can tell each time we go, she is getting bigger and bigger because of what she does different each month. This month she was really singing and lead the whole group to dance. All the other kids were sitting on their moms laps and she got up and started dancing. Everyone was dancing after that!
She participates so well and does everything the teacher asks. She even remembered the instrument part and the parachute. I love taking her everywhere because she appreciates it so much and loves being social (like her momma!!)

Her buddy Owen follows her around everywhere! They love eachother!

16 weeks!!

Today this post is about me! I am so excited to say that I am 16 weeks pregnant and feeling so good! I went to the doctor two weeks ago and she said everything was perfect. We listened to the heartbeat and she said it was around 150. I have no idea what that means though! Eduardo and I go back the last week of March for another appt. with the doctor and a full ultrasound. We could find out the sex but we are going to wait and let it be a HUGE surprise!!
I can't wear any of my own pants anymore without doing the rubberband trick (thanks Emily for teaching me that one). I never did that when I was pregnant with Ana Maria, but I wish I had known. Maternity pants are still a little big for me but I wear them because they are comfy! I can no longer wear any of my own shirts because they are too short! I love being pregnant and feel so good!!

I'm showing you my new haircut in this picture :) My good friend Tamara recommended a really great person to cut my hair and I love it!

Here is my 16 week belly today! I had to take the picture myself because Eduardo is at work and I wanted to post this now :)

The weather

The weather has finally got a little warmer here the last couple of days but not as warm as South Florida! I am so jealous of my family and all the time they get to spend on their new boat, outside and even the beach! Here are some "jealous" pictures I got from my brother a couple days ago. He is so proud of his new boat, or I should say the new family boat! I can't wait to go for out on it when we go to Florida in April...be ready Lee and dad to take us!!

Lee enjoying the sun :)

Sarah's Big Night

Sarah had her big night as First Year Teacher of the Year last weekend and here are some cute pictures from it. She looks adorable and from what I hear...was the cutest dressed! Don't you agree she'd be? :)

This is Chris (her boyfriend), Sarah and my dad and mom at the after dinner celebrating :) I wish we could have been there with her too!

A neat experince!

Uncle John and Former President Jimmy Carter

My uncle John who lives in South Florida had such a neat experience last weekend that I wanted to share it with you. He is a fishing captain, meaning he uses his boat for charters and chargers people money to take them out fishing. If you were visiting South Florida on vacation and had no access to a boat, this is what you would want to do to be able to catch lots of fish, big fish, and have a great day on a beautiful boat enjoying the sun!
Fortunatly for us, my parents now have a new boat, but before that Uncle John was always the one that took us out on his boat for fishing and/or a ride!
Anyways....the neat experience is that he got a phone call to do a charter but wasn't told who it was going to be. He showed up that morning and found lots of secret service standing around and found out that he was taking former President Jimmy Carter's son and his wife out on the boat. Jimmy Carter did not go but the next day, Uncle John had another charter and just ended up seeing the Carters in the same location, and his son called him over to take a picture with his dad. Uncle John said they were the nicest people and it was truly an experience to shake hands with the former President.
You can find the whole article that was in the newspaper at http://www.tcpalm.com/news/2010/mar/02/captain-nets-chance-to-meet-the-carters/ if you want to read more about it.
So next time you are in South Florida, give Uncle John a call!!

Singing along!

Ana Maria loves to make up songs while she is coloring, painting, or in this case...using markers on her table! She uses songs that she knows (and she knows a lot by heart) to put silly words in there and just make something up. She realy knows what she is doing and it is really funny listening to her! The other morning we were going to school and she saw cows on the side of the road, and started singing....moo cow moo cow moo cow moo!! I love to hear her sweet voice!!
